John Schumann is an Australian singer, songwriter and guitarist who first came to fame as a member of the Flinders University group, Redgum. During that time his songs, ‘I’ve Been To Bali Too’ and ‘I Was Only 19’ brought the group to national attention. ‘I Was Only 19’ is a song exploring the psychological and medical side-effects of serving in the Australian forces during the Vietnam War. The song recently appeared in the Kriv Stenders movie,Danger Close:The Battle of Long Tan.
