Hi everyone it’s been busy here but getting ready for The Last Post interview with tennis legend John Newcombe on Wednesday morning. The interview will be in the November Remembrance Day edition of TLP and work as a nice lead in to the regular Australian Open coverage we give for Tennis Australia. We’re hoping the Aussies can do well but above all, look forward to some quality tennis. Also, for the summer, TLP will be speaking with ABC cricket commentator Jim Maxwell. Jim is the one voice a lot of my friends look forward to hearing whenever Australia take to the field to do battle. We’re hoping for a good summer for the baggy greens but before that, some luck and good form in the Ashes. We haven’t jumped on the overloaded Ashton Agar bandwagon just yet but people are lining up for tickets after the 19 year old’s recent performance and we hope he gets some back up against the English team. I’ve been increasing the length of my daily walks in an effort to get ready for the Parkinson’s NSW 2013 Unity Walk and Run. The Parkinson’s organisation do a great job and have been staging this popular event since 2008. It will be held at Sydney’s Olympic Park on the 25th of August. So far more than $1.2 million has been raised to help people living with Parkinson’s, their families and carers. There’s even a super prize for both male and female winners of the 8km run who will be given 6 nights at Waikiki’s Holiday Inn Beachcomber, return airfares paid. I’m a bit envious because I’ve stayed there and just love Hawaii. More news soon but for more info on the walk and run go to www.unitywalk.com.au or www.unityrun.com.au Aloha!
